I don't want to do this, they make up ''I'm busy. I mean, why play games? Well, OP I think bh gives the best advice, maybe trying to meet someone offline. Not that I would be against online dating, but my sister does it a lot, and she says it's just hard to meet a quality person on some of the sites she's been on. Quality meaning they are truthful, they appear as their pic, etc so, guess it's sort of like you're having to take a leap of faith when you're trying to connect through the net.

in clubs of some sort, a bar, bookstore When I was single years back often I went to bookstores and met women there; a friend of mine met his wife through a hiking club. While I have nothing against online dating, it sounds as if you have to jump through a lot of hoops just to actually meet the ladies and it sounds like a lot of them have issues same as guys having issues, so I'm not being misogynistic here.

I really had kinda given up on finding a real relationship, then I met my now wife.
Was on a nite when I was meeting some friends, almost decided not to go out. One of their friends came unexpectantly and that was it. Was not a set up, in fact they were shocked we got together Bottom line, it happens when you least expect it , don't give up Last edited by djflex; at PM. I think you should find out where each and every one of these lovely ladies live and work, and camp out in front of their houses for a couple of nights weeks if needed to get a better feel for if they're the right ones for ya. in this day and age of sick individuals, you can never be too careful.

I Appreciate the Feedback Here's the thing, These things just happened all at once, in a few week period. It would be different if these issues were months apart but they weren't.
Believe me, I have a female friend that has an account at pof. com and she IS swamped with guys BUT they are a total joke. I'm not God's gift to women but even I KNOW that you need to put in a little more effort than that and she agrees with me.
I really DO believe in myself but its hard not to take things personal lately. Yeah I know about trying to date offline but that is a little tricky. I live in a small mill town where there are taverns, bars, and taverns. NOT exactly girlfriend material. I guess I have a tough time breaking the ice at grocery stores, drug stores, etc.
I'm not sure if they are available or not where online at dating sites you know at LEAST they are looking. I AM taking a break from that site right now and MAY try again down the road. I think this may be the wrong dating website. Here's the thing, These things just happened all at once, in a few week period. KimberleyRN View Profile View Forum Posts. If I were ever single again, I would NOT do online dating. I know 2 friends that met their husbands on eHarmony, so that site is a bit better at matching folks up than the usual 'free for all' sites.
I would meet a guy at church or at the gym maybe one of those firemen K before you speak. If not, then just keep it to yourself. think about what you write before you hit "Mr. Enter" button. I could see getting cold feet if I was a woman if I didnt feel I knew the guy very well. Lots of nuts out there What about real life how is that going? Last edited by dochuge; at PM. According to her, she digs younger guys BUT she won't come up in a search engine by men my age if she listed her real age.
Honestly, I usually cut it off in the upper 40's myself so she has a point. BUT she is being deceitful and desperate. If she had emailed me first and listed her correct age I would have definitely gone out with her.
She is attractive but those photos may be from the early 90's. I basically took the high road and said that when you are up for it call me and we'll go from there. People put way too much emphasis on the importance of dating. That includes the guy that really tore into her. I mean, its not like this guy flew in from Tokyo ready to propose marriage to her.
He can voice his displeasure without flipping out, imho. I usually ask about 3 to 4 messages in. I think earlier than that and you appear too desperate, but any more and you start stringing people along and appear hesitant. I KNOW there are nuts out there but its obvious through my texts and talking to me on the phone that I am not one of them. I've been a HS science teacher at the same HS for almost 20 years.
I'm pretty grounded. Real life is great. I have friends and go out, usually to taverns to shoot pool, have fun. BUT I live a healthy lifestyle as many of us on this site do and I am NOT bumping into women there that share this mindset.
Many of them are partiers that like to excessively drink, smoke, and do drugs. That is not the kind of woman I am interested in having a relationship with.
So pick up a chick at GNC! Originally Posted by KimberleyRN. Funny you mentioned that because I have met some friends through GNC because I go in there so often. I was supposed to hang out with them last Thursday but our wires got crossed.
Maybe in the future. As for church I'm not religious so I'm not going to pretend to be somebody I'm not for the sole purpose of meeting available women. Rowyn View Profile View Forum Posts. Pretty much all my friends who are single not that many, most are married use some online service for dating in addition to just getting out and about and being involved in activities. I would say they run into duds here and there, but most seem pretty good about finding other perfectly normal people to go out with There isn't always a connection, but they aren't whack jobs and whatnot.
Most of them use eHarmony. It seems so much more difficult to meet others when you are at an age when so many are married, everyone is working and not out socializing as you did when you were younger, there are committments that keep people busy, not as many friends and hobbies I think the internet is a great way for people to break the ice at least. But I would most probably actually SPEAK to the person a time or two versus messages to make sure that there was really a connection and not just a random date.
When I was single, I never met a guy at a grocery store! Yes, you see them and exchange a glance or two, but never have I heard of actually picking someone up there? Walgreens, for real? Best place to hook up in Chicago get a dog!! Have met many a good friend and lover that way, just hanging out at a dog park or the beach or whatever.
Since the dogs interact with each other and you just stand there and watch them play, there is plenty of time for the owners to chat. Still have good friends from my first early days living on the shores of Lake Michigan and we all met via our dogs. There were three different marriages in the group, and various dating scenarios. Problem with things like biking and rollerblading and such you are just whizzing on past each other with no chance to connect.
How about the gym? If you don't belong, maybe join one just to meet women interested in the same lifestyle? At my gym, there are LOADS of women between am. Joining Fitness Singles is free! I do not come across needy, pushy, etc. I am a very confident guy, bodybuilding really helps in this way, but I've had not one, or two but three disappointing experiences in a row.
I just want to date which means going out, meeting someone, having fun, no expectations, etc. You know, new experiences and all. Currently I'm on plentyoffish. com but considering moving to a pay site. Woman A: Get her number, call her, within 5 seconds says she's leaving for a shower and cant talk now. I say, "Will you be home later today so we can talk more?
Call her later and ask her out, she's busy the entire week for lunch and dinner but says that she MAY have something open up. That's where it was left at. BTW, everytime I'm on that site she's on there too. I don't know what this woman is looking for.
Woman B: Don't hear from her for over a week after sending her a message and then emails me out of the blue. I get her number and ask her out and she agrees. Date is set up for a Friday. On Thursday she emails me and tells me that her schedule changed and that she really wants to meet me but she's going on vacation for two weeks but will come back and well hook up later.
We have a great 45 minute conversation. She's supposed to be back this week, called her but haven't heard from her.
Its like she dropped off the face of the earth. Haven't given up on this one yet but she seems pretty flaky. Woman C: Get her number, asked her out on Monday for date on Thursday. This woman sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders. I'm pleasantly optimisitic. Well she lied about her age online, she's really 51 and not 46 and some guy she had a date with earlier in the week tore her a new one because she lied about her age.
This woman needs a "breather" now because this guy made her feel old and ugly so she cancels OUR date umm, I'm the innocent one, remember? and says maybe we will get together later when she's feeling better about herself. Yeah, right. OK, its been a long time since I've dated. I'm not asking these women to join me at the altar, I just want to meet new people. Is it THIS hard? Is plentyoffish really plentyofflakes?
Sounds like you were better off not going out with them but then again, that was only three. If you are still having these problems by woman P, Q, or R, then you might want to reconsider the online thing. themyth View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage. Originally Posted by dochuge. You know why this stuff happens?
I know that at least on the big sites like www. com the men outnumber the women like 5 to 1 and the ladies are usually bombarded with PMs and e-mails.
When you are even decent looking as a woman you can pick and choose and it really has nothing to do with you. It's just that some ladies out there are shopping around and because they are getting asked out by so many guys they may end up seeing if they can do better. Don't take it personal. Women can be superficial bitches. If they are treating you like that you don't need them anyway. bustasinclair View Profile View Forum Posts. Good luck, I ended up meeting my GF in real life and not online, I understand something like 1 in 6 relationships starts online now but meh after I gave up, the GF asked me out and it is all good now so I just look back now and laugh.
